Feed The Children Again Meets BBB Wise Giving Alliance StandardsWednesday, December 26, 2012

BBB Wise Giving Alliance produces reports on over 1,200 nationally soliciting charitable organizations

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 20, 2012) — Feed The Children has once again been recognized as meeting all 20 standards of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability were developed to assist donors in making sound giving decisions and to foster public confidence in charitable organizations. The standards seek to encourage fair and honest solicitation practices, to promote ethical conduct by charitable organizations and to advance support of philanthropy.

“Our board of directors and management team have worked diligently to strengthen the transparency and accountability of Feed The Children and this recognition shows that their efforts have been successful,” said Kevin Hagan, president and CEO of Feed The Children. “We want donors to know that Feed The Children is serious about maintaining the highest standards and committed to being good stewards of their contributions.”

The BBB Wise Giving Alliance produces reports on over 1,200 nationally soliciting charitable organizations. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance does not rank charities but rather seeks to assist donors in making informed judgments by providing objective evaluations of national charities. Nonprofits are evaluated every two years on the 20 standards and the reports on each charity are available at www.bbb.org/charity

Founded in 1979, Feed The Children’s mission is to provide hope and resources for those without life’s essentials. A BBB Wise Giving Alliance accredited charity, Feed The Children is one of the largest charities based in the U.S., providing more than 350,000 children around the world with a hot, nourishing meal every day. Here in the U.S., nearly 10 million people receive assistance each year from food and supplies distributed through over 1,200 local partner agencies.
